“Yellow Bells”
My first day in school. I don’t remember who I was with or much of the day at all. But I do remember the walk going there. I saw the yellowest flowers I have ever seen in my life. I asked what they were called. Yellow bells. I’ve decided that I like learning.
Sketches for Djamila Knopf’s ‘Story-Driven Illustrations’ course on Schoolism. The idea was to tell different versions of the same scene by changing direction. The prompt I gave myself was “girl on train.”
Based on Katti Sta. Ana’s “Bully Big Pig,” this was made as part of AngINK’s Membership Application in 2019.
